I want to start a small herb garden on my windowsill. I'm always buying fresh basil or cilantro for a recipe and then watching most of it wilt in my fridge. It feels wasteful, and honestly, the dried stuff in jars just doesn't compare.
I went to the store yesterday and came home with little pots, a bag of soil, and packets of seeds for basil, mint, and parsley. My kitchen counter is now a temporary potting shed, and I got my hands dirty for the first time in ages planting them.
So I gotta keep them alive and just use them. There's just someting so satisfying about growing bits of the food consumed in the household.
